Ei Meghla Dine Ekla - a lover's longing

Even after all these years, the raw spirit of this youthful Hemant Kumar Bengali song doesn't appear to leave me. Only recently I looked up the meaning and was pleased to discover that the mood of the song was what my intuition had always imagined- the longing of a hopeless lover.

Disclaimer: this is not poetry but my own piecing together of verbatim from a language I  barely understand

Amid dark clouds yonder,
my heart revolts  'cause it's home alone
yearning  to be together yours, it asks,
oh dear,  where is your invite?

The breeze from the jasmine  grove
brings no sooth but ah! it fans my desire aflame

With my heart pining
I watch the gathering storm in melancholy

My feet restless, I back and forth
Every fleeting moment I fancy you will come,
you will smile, and you will  say, indeed you are mine

I can think nothing than  crave for our milan
but why this silence? why?
must you torment me like this my dear?

That was a clumsy translation - here is how it really feels
